LFCA FAQ's
Who is eligible to apply?
- Interventional Pulmonology Fellows
- Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellows (must be in your 3rd year by the time the course starts in November)
- Thoracic Surgery Fellows
What is time commitment?
- We anticipate meeting 2-3 evenings a month, 9-10 pm Eastern from November through May.
- Formal in-person program in our Atlanta training facility, scheduled to take place in late April/May (final dates to be determined and announced to final awardees)
- Attendance expectations will be provided to awardees upon acceptance into the program.
When are the application period and key deadlines?
- LFCA application portal: opens late summer 2026
- LFCA applications due: October 16, 2026, 5:00 pm Eastern
- LFCA applicant notifications: October 30, 2026
- LFCA awardees' mandatory pre-program survey due (awardees only): November 6, 2026, 5:00 pm Eastern
- LFCA program kickoff: Evening of November 10 (please note this may change; time, TBD)
Is there a rolling application? Will the program accept incoming applications once a cycle has started?
- There is no rolling application; each application is set for the upcoming cycle.
- Applications will not be accepted once the cycle has started.
- Formal in-person program in our Atlanta training facility, scheduled to take place in late April/May (final dates to be determined and announced to final awardees).
Is there a cost to participate?
There is no cost.
